10 Years and still smiling
What a wife !

Your hosts, Nick and Melissa Brettingham-Moore worked in the Professional Yacht industry for over 20 years throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Baltic seas.
Nick is a retired MCA Class IV (Yacht) Captain with over 100,000 sea miles in his own yachts and as a professional Captain. He is a qualified Yacht Surveyor and was originally a licenced Land Surveyor in Tasmania. From 1979 to 1984 he constructed his own 10 m yacht and left Tasmania in 1987 to sail around the Pacific, he has lived outside Australia for over 30 years. In 1999 he spent two years in Holland overseeing the construction of the 40 m luxury Motor Yacht ‘Solaia’
Melissa left Australia when she was 22 to study and train in the hospitality industry in Spain. In 1996, in Mallorca, Spain, she met Nick and started working as a stewardess. They were married in 2002. During the construction of the 40 m Motor Yacht ‘Solaia’ she trained as a professional chef in Amsterdam. She recently completed her Nutritional Medicine degree in Australia and is now a certified Nutritionist. For several years she was the chef on Solaia.
In 2007, with the imminent arrival of their first son, Benjamin they left the Yacht Industry and took possession of their new Lagoon 440 Catamaran ‘Sonrisa’ in La Rochelle, France. ‘Sonrisa’ has been their home over the past 10 years as they crossed the Atlantic, cruised the Caribbean, and transited the Panama Canal. In 2010 they found the dream cruising area in the Sea of Cortez and have been there ever since.
Their two boys, Benjamin and Huon were home schooled for several years until 2015 when they enrolled in the Liceo Montessori school in La Paz. On most weekends the family take off for the Espiritu Islands to unshackle from society, get rid of clothes, and enjoy the numerous water based activities in this National Park.
